What is Eldorado Stone?
Eldorado Stone is a manufactured stone made out of Portland Cement, lightweight natural aggregates and iron oxide pigments, all of which are basic components of natural stone. It fits nearly any building plan – large, small, interior, exterior, commercial, residential, remodel, or new.
Eldorado Stone is manufactured throughout the world by the leaders in the art of replicating the world’s most beautiful stones.

What is the Core product line ?
The Core Profiles are the newest stone profiles available from Eldorado Stone. There are 12 profiles and 58 colors; 31 that are brand new. They are unsurpassed in appearance and follow Eldorado's strict philosophy of believability. The core line represents years of continuous innovation, research and development as well as technical milestones in manufacturing, production and coloration. They are manufactured nationwide by our regional manufacturing facilities and available through our distributors coast to coast. Eldorado also manufactures Core Accents to complement the core profiles. They are available in 4 standard colors or custom colored to match any stone specification.

What is the Regional product line ?
The Western and Eastern Regional Product lines are comprised of indigenous profiles that Eldorado Stone makes for specific markets. These profiles have proven popular on a regional basis but do not appear in our Core Product line. Regional availability, product line flexibility and local market sensitivity make Eldorado Stone the only simulated stone manufacturer with this competitive edge.

How is Eldorado Stone made?
- Natural stones are individually chosen for uniqueness.
- Molds are crafted to replicate every textural detail.
- Natural color hues are formulated using iron oxide pigments.
- Colors are painstakingly hand applied to the molds.
- Stones are cast, unmolded and carefully packaged.

What are the benefits of using a manufactured stone?
The installed cost is 1/3 to 1/2 less than natural stone, it is lightweight, and requires no footings, wall ties or foundations. It has a 2% waste factor vs. 10% or more for natural stone.

Does Eldorado Stone meet Building Code requirements?
It complies with all applicable Building Code requirements. (See copy of the Eldorado Stone Technical Data Sheet.)

What does Eldorado Stone weigh?
Approximately 10 lbs. per square foot. (Eldorado Stone qualifies as an adhered veneer because it weighs less than 15 lbs. per square foot.)

Will Eldorado Stone fade?
Permanent iron oxide dyes are applied and absorbed by the stone when it is cast, thus the color becomes an integral part of the stone. The base color is blended throughout and the mortar can be colored to match as well. There are no noticeable changes in the color after years of weathering.

What about stone repetition?
Eldorado Stone is cast from thousands of molds and an average of 150 square feet of original material can be expected with each stone profile. In addition, with colors hand-applied, no two stones are exactly the same.

What type of coverage can be expected?
Approximately 100 square feet per day. This varies depending upon the stone type used, i.e. Stacked Stone, which is sold in 4” modular component panels is easy to install and will provide coverage of up to 200 square feet in a day. On the other hand, Shadow Rock, with irregular shapes and varying stone sizes, can provide coverage of 70-80 square feet in a day.

Are there any water issues?
Eldorado Stone requires the same flashing and water proofing as stucco. (This includes the use of a weep screed.) It is not recommended for use below the water line in a pool or fountain. A quality Silane or Siloxane based penetrating breathable sealer is recommended on planters and baselines subject to splashing to help prevent staining.
Note: A sealer will affect the stone color and may create a sheen, so always test a small area beforehand.

Is Eldorado Stone combustible?
No. Eldorado Stone’s listing by Underwriter’s Laboratories shows zero fuel contributed and zero smoke developed. It can be used on outer fireplace facings and walls behind or near stoves.

Can Eldorado Stone be installed on any surface?
It can be applied to any structurally sound surface and is installed directly to clean (unpainted and untreated) brick, block or concrete.

Can repairs be made in the field?
Minor repairs can be made in the field by using a cement/oxide mix or by replacing individual stones.

What is the installed cost?
Approximately $10.00 - $15.00 a square foot based on the stone type and size of the project.
